Beaches and Coastline in Calpe
With 11 kilometres of coastline, Calpe has twelve sandy beaches most with promenades and lots of bars, restaurants and shops. Calpe is on the Southeast coast of Spain, between Valencia and Alicante, about 15 miles north of Benidorm.

Calpe is a beautiful holiday center for those looking for a beautiful relaxing resort, with plenty to do and see. Calpe has two main very good, safe and sandy beaches. The two beaches are linked by a promenade approximately two miles long. Calpe has a wide choice of shops, and there is a large general open-air market on Saturday mornings. There are many restaurants, which offer a variety of international menus and are well known for their quality and reasonable prices. Benidorm is about 20 minutes ride away for those seeking a more sophisticated night out. There is a regular bus service to Benidorm, Alicante and Valencia and a narrow gauge railway, which gives a scenic ride along the coast between Alicante and Denia. Terra Mitica is a new theme park suitable or all age groups 20 minutes drive away.

There are about five kilometres of striking cliffs, with the Ifach, Toix and La Manzanara and the rest is beaches of fine sand, bays and coastline.Among the sandy beaches, special mention should be made of the Playa de la Fossa or the Playa de Levante, more than 1 km of wide sands, ideal for swimming, diving and other sports.The Arenal beach and the Levante are brilliant, both of which have made arrangements for swimmers.The beaches of Bol, Moli, Morello, Cantal Roig and Calaga, have miles of beautiful golden sand, and are not quite as congested as some others like La Fossa.The bays of Les Bassetes, El Cantal Pla, Banos de la Reina, Les Urques and Cala Gaspa are reknown in the area as being brilliant diving locations.


Calpe's Fishing Port and Marina
Calpe's fishing port comes alive with hustle and bustle as the afternoon fish auction draws near. At five in the afternoon you can watch the boats off-loading the day's catch. The fish are immediately auctioned at the harbour Fish Market and can be bought in smaller quantities from a shop there. Restaurant terraces fill up with lively crowds anxious to try some of the fresh local shellfish. The town centre preserves the remains of a small fort from the 16th century, called the Torreon de la Peca. There is also a Gothic-style parochial church worth visiting, with Mudejar additions. From the chapels of Cometa and Salvador there is an attractive view.

The Club Nautical of Calpe is in the locality of Calpe. Behind the Nautical Club sits the Rock of Ifach which is the symbol of Costa Blanca, the White Coast. The coordinates are 38º 38º 04 North Latitude and 0º East longitude. (See map).

The Club consists of a total of 276 moorings distributed in 8 quays. Boat capacity in berths up to 30 meters. The depth in the port is 6,5 meters, in the outer port it is 4 meters and in the sport dock it oscillates between 0,5 and 3,5 meters. Inside the Club perimeter exists stores that specialize in the sale of boats and nautical equipment, as well as supermarkets, banks and restaurants.
